Save a sign, post, and a house!
Keep calm and don't panic. The storm is definitely heading our way and likely will effect Tampa in some way. However keeping calm and having a plan will be the most productive for you, your family, and your friends. Also, if you're selling your house, don't forget to pull up the signs because they will become projectiles during the storm -- save a sign, save a post, and save a possible house!
Per our office email from Hank Sorensen:
"I wanted to touch base with everyone regarding the potential threat of Hurricane Irma on our area.
Your first priority needs to be to keep you and your family safe. If this storm comes our way, it will be a big one. It's no fun, and absolutely should be taken seriously. Don't freak out, but don't be complacent. Here are a few things you need to think about: You should have non-perishable food for you and your family that will last in upwards of 4 or 5 days. You should have a gallon of water per day per family member. You should have plenty of flashlights and batteries as well as a battery operated radio. Gas up your cars. Get some cash from the bank. If you are leaving, leave early. You don't want to get stuck on the road in the storm.
Next, think about your business. Once we know for certain whether the storm is headed our way, call your listings and ask them to remove your sign panel for the storm. This will protect your signs and will keep them from becoming potential projectiles. If you have any closings coming up this week, MAKE SURE YOUR BUYERS HAVE BOUND THEIR INSURANCE! If you have closings coming up next week, they will possibly be delayed. Many lenders require the appraiser to visit the property to make sure there is no damage. This might take a few days."
Nick Williamson: Keep safe, check-in when necessary to let family and friends know you're okay. Praying it misses Tampa but no matter where it hits -- it will hit hard!
God Bless!
